How to wait? Workshop at  Šopa Gallery, Košice , Slovakia

In a world that celebrates speed and demands instant results, waiting often feels uncomfortable or it is seen as wasted time. It is rarely a desired action, and yet it has accompanied humanity from the very beginning - present in our most ordinary and most profound life experiences. But what if we looked at waiting not as emptiness, but as presence? As a source of meaning, creativity, and even peace? Waiting can be an invitation to slow down, to inhabit the moment fully, and to discover what emerges in the spaces between action and outcome. During the workshop we will reflect on waiting as a living practice - a bodily experience that teaches patience, attention, and openness. Together, we will ask: How is waiting different from boredom, or from mindfulness? What happens when it is shared - when it becomes a collective experience? Can waiting be an intentional activity? Through reflection, creative exercises, and conversations, we will explore different sides of what it means to wait, and how slowing down and embracing stillness can open us to new ways of being - individually and together. We will engage with the act of waiting not as interruption, but an invitation - a doorway into presence, connection, and possibility.
